Crookes Community Performers originated in 2022 with the aim of bringing together budding actors and performers from the area – no matter what their previous experience.
We are a small team of volunteers from the local community, headed up by local Performing Arts teacher Jules Rushforth.
Every year, we put on a classic panto with a Sheffield twist! Check out the Home page to see some of the shows from previous years shows.
Our Crookes panto raises money for charity, Our current charity partner is the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
Why Performing Arts?
From singing and dancing, to music and acting, we have seen the power that performing arts has to build confidence, connections, friendship and community.
Our aims are:
Build Community - we’re passionate about bringing the community together to work on shows they can be proud of. We welcome budding performers and crew of all ages and abilities.
Create Opportunities to Perform - we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the benefits that come from performing.
Provide Quality Community Entertainment - we want our cast and crew to be proud of the shows they put on, and we want to help them develop their talent and skills so that they can take them further if they wish to.
Create Volunteering Opportunities - from lighting and sound, to costume and props, our volunteers bring our shows to life! And we love sharing our skills and knowledge to help them grow.
Developing Life Skills - we have watched our cast members grow in confidence, build friendships and we have seen huge benefits to their mental health too. Don’t take our word for it – ask any of our cast and crew!
